Carol of the Bells (2020)

This movie showed up as a suggestion based on other movies I'd watched on Prime video.

It was a real tearjerker for me without even trying very hard.

It's the story of a man who is on a mission to find his biological mother...and when he finds her, he wants nothing to do with her because she is mentally challenged and lives in a group home for people with special needs.

He can't hate her anymore for giving him away, but he also feels like no relationship is even possible with someone who isn't normal.

His pregnant wife starts visiting his mother, creating some issues with the home and with the client's mother who is very upset to learn of the intrusion of uninvited outsiders into her daughter's life.

It's a story about family, about brokenness and healing, about dreams lost and found, about making the most of what you have, even if it isn't perfect.

This movie breaks your heart, but then puts it back together again.

It's a story worth watching.
