An employee asked customers if he could tell them a dirty joke. According to the employee, if they said yes, he told a dirty joke to the customers.

One customer who heard his joke demanded a $250 gift card and an apology on all social media.

She also filed a human rights complaint.

Should employees be telling dirty jokes to customers? Nah, it's unprofessional and potentially offensive and he is representing a business, not only himself.

But is it a human rights violation to hear a joke you don't want to hear? Only to a person who has never actually had human rights violated by being wrongly arrested, mutilated, tortured, raped, unjustly fired from a job, had children wrongly removed, etc..

According to the employee, she agreed to hear it, which I don't know if she even argues. Telling the store management is even a little over the top when probably just telling the employee she didn't appreciate it might have sufficed. But going to a human rights tribunal to complain about a joke in the light of little girls having their genitals forcibly cut off in USA in numbers estimated to be 100 - 140 million girls and women living with mutilated genitals (https://www.usaid.gov/news-information/fact-sheets/female-genital-mutilation-cutting-usg-response#_ftnref4), unknown numbers of sex trafficking victims (https://www.focusonthefamily.com/socialissues/family/sex-trafficking/sex-trafficking-the-facts), and many others who suffer actual bodily harm at the hands of evil people.

Taking it to that level over a dirty joke shows a certain level of ignorance or apathy about people who are actually suffering.

In an increasingly godless age where evolutionism is the religion of the day, the term human rights has little logical basis. If we are all just chemical reactions, particles in motion, what "rights" can anyone possibly actually have?

This is a huge root of the problem of all kinds of abuse and horrific acts people do against others. People have abandoned God and morality. Human life has no real value, nor can it, outside of what God puts on it because He says it's valuable, He loves each person, and commands loving treatment from people to each other and forbids murder, harm, and even hatred.
