Yes, FFA games can be “unfair”! But…
Everyone knows FFA games can end up with the strongest players hitting each other and someone else acquiring massive territory untouched, or with someone getting doubled fast and hard. It happens. This tournament is strictly for fun and enjoyment and we know these things happen to the best of em. This fun competitive arrangement will feature a point system, so even if you end up losing, you can still acquire points based on your performance. All participants will have the opportunity to play 4 rounds with players potentially getting shifted around between the games between matches. The player who gains the most points wins the whole tournament.
Tournament Set Up
All participants are invited to play 4 FFA games on 4 different maps. Depending on number of players, there may be two games going at once (or even three if we have a surprisingly large turnout). If there is room, late joiners will be permitted to enter subsequent rounds.
If there are 7 or fewer contestants, all will be in one game. I plan to host and observe in one of the games and stream (twitch.tv/w2babyshark) so it will be on Melee setting. Players will be eliminated and can then watch the stream if they desire.
If 8+ contestants, they will be distributed as evenly as possible based on order they sign up or are written down on order of arrival in channel before first game and after each round so players may be getting moved around and face different opponents over the evening.
