Love, Rosie

Love, Rosie is a heart-wrenching story about a guy and girl who grow up as best friends and care about each other a great deal, but over the years...are never together.

The lead actress is phenomenal. Not only is she supremely beautiful in a graceful, elegant, feminine way, but her portrayal of Rosie is so warm and so real that you entirely believe her character from start to finish.

There are those big moments in life that change your life, like birth and death, marriage and divorce, and in this story that spans across two decades, you see all of the above and you feel what Rosie feels. It's that well done.

It's based in England, so you get the cool accent as a bonus, as well as some breath-taking scenic waterfront shots.

There is also a lot to think about with regards to the themes and concepts presented in the film, like the idea that someone else should or will make you happy, concepts of faithfulness and expectations in relationships, and the impact of poor parental decisions on children, although these aren't really overtly addressed, but rather come to mind as a result of taking in the story.

I think the driving force of the story is the human desire for "true" love, for permanent love, for persevering love that can withstand the storms of life and any challenges and obstacles that come along, and with that long-lasting love, a real connection, a bond, a sense of closeness, intimacy, friendship, and mutual enjoyment. I'm not convinced anything in earthly life can top that find.
