The Worst Year of My Life
I was in the mood for a downer movie lol.
It was a little depressing but I liked it anyway.
The Worst Year of My Life follows the story of a guy who met a girl, fell in love, got into a relationship...and when he's about to propose marriage, she is found to be cheating on him. Bonus, he also sunk all his life's savings and investments and assets into helping her start a cupcake business, only to have her get bored after a few months and quit lol. Poor guy.
It's very well done, you feel like you're actually watching an actual couple instead of actors, you feel the different stages in their relationship as they are very relatable and real.
I found myself rooting for him in the end, in spite of his sort of pathetic continuation to fawn over this girl who is unworthy of him. He really loved her. I get it lol.
Not sure if I'd watch this one again (okay, maybe after many years pass), but I enjoyed the experience of watching it the first time in that deep, connecting with others' pain and the wretchedness of the universe kind of way.
